After struggling with Gel-Type Batteries of average quality I asked the help of David from “Mallorca Batteries”. Immediately he came with his equipment to test the Service Bank and found faulty batteries. Not wanting to go with the same type David came with a solution. Environmentally better (then Lithium Ion), bigger capacity, amazing price quality, better overall performance and combined with new solar panels led to the yacht running normally without generator for 3 full days. I was introduced to Dave Allen 4 years ago when I was in need of testing some battery banks consisting of 6 volt and 2 volt cells. Dave was the only contractor I could find on the island who could perform a discharge test on these battery banks, to get an accurate health check of each of the batteries. His setup uses wireless monitoring of each cell, which feeds data to monitoring software, which can identify if any cells are damaged, reduced in capacity or still good. Then, with Dave’s experience and knowledge of batteries of all types, he could advise me the correct batteries for my applications. Dave has a “no fuss” approach, which makes him a pleasure to deal with. I would certainly recommend Dave to anyone in need of checking and replacing batteries and battery chargers.
